It’s not a complete wash; the chase scene in Malta is entertaining and there's a floor-stage satisfaction in looking at the first Jurassic trio of Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and Ian Malcolm together in the identical area yet again, but Over-all, it’s just not an awesome movie.
